Do you hate crunches, sit ups and planks? Me too.
Plus, I'm tired of seeing the same core workouts being promoted over and over again when they don't even train the movements of the core required for skills in day to day life let alone the actions needed to play a sport.
The truth is we do not have the evidence to suggest that planks, crunches or sit ups are effective for preventing injury, back pain or to simply give you core that's ready to actually take on this obstacle course of life.
The solution?
I would like to change the game. It's time to incorporate exercises that ACTUALLY help your spine (therefore the muscles of your core) build the skills it needs to accelerate and decelerate force, rotate, bend forwards, backwards, sideways AND be able to transfer weight from high- low - high (you'll be ready to lift Simba, or your toddler; whatever's handy).
And even better news it's only going to take 15 minutes of your time. You can use a light weight (or a water bottle would do) or go entirely bodyweight for this session.
