30 Minute Full Body Workout

Join me in 2024 for my current at home strength program. It's a low impact full body workout and involves dumbbells; ideally a lighter and heavier set. It is a 30 minute full body workout, it's apartment friendly and I provide variations so that you can cater the session to your ability level.

I tend to stick to the same workout program for 4-6 weeks and try to steadily increase either the repetitions I'm able to do or the weight I'm able to lift. I write notes so that I'm able to track what I do week to week- you don't need to download any fancy apps to track your workouts. I like to keep things very simple so I don't have to think too much about doing it!

I don't have a lot of time to fit in weights based resistance training so I tend to train in this way once- twice a week. Because of this I try to get the most bang for my buck and choose weights that will give me the intensity to support the health of my steadily ageing bones and muscles.

As a rule of thumb if I can complete 8-10 repetitions of an exercise I will generally increase my weights or increase my range of motion so I can get the intensity required in order to continue to increase my strength. If you are newer to strength training I wouldn't worry about this too much- I would simply focus on familiarising yourself with the exercises and take the variations to make the movements a little easier whenever you need to.

It's a myth that workouts have to be 60 minutes and 5X per week to see progress. I have plenty of clients that do 2-3 short workouts per week and dramatically improve their strength and health outcomes. 30 minutes of strength training fits into my lif alongside my horse riding which I do 2-3 times per week and this gives the variety to challenge my body in different ways and allows me to improve different aspects of my health.

Exercises, as always ,should be fitted to YOUR lifestyle and not the other way around.

Enjoy and subscribe to my youtube channel so you can be the first to try any new workouts!
